More e-spam...OR...I'm about to get RICH

Friends.  I know this is totally pointless, and maybe a little crazy, but I just LOVE replying to email spam.  The 7 minutes a day spent on this is worth 2 hours of creative energy.  I thrive here.

I usually only get a couple back and forths from them before they get fed up, but lately, I feel like I've hit a jackpot.  I'm pretty sure the ring of spam kings I've been in touch with every day feel the same way about me, because after more than a month of replying back and forth, I've officially promised them an initial investment of $2000, which is a small price to pay for the MILLIONS that I am about to receive.

I mean, I'm obviously not going to pay, but they seem pretty sure I am.  The following is an extremely long copy/paste that starts about a month ago.  RIP Uncle Willams.

Dear Shannon ,
I am Alex Morgan, personal account manager of late Mr. Williams Hutchison,
national of your country, who used to work with BP oil London United Kingdom
limited, here in UK. Sunday, October 23, 2010, my client, his wife and their
three children were involved in car accident which took his life and his entire
Family, I hate to remember this incident but God knows the best. Since then
I have made several enquiries to your embassy to locate any of my clients
extended relatives, this has also proved unsuccessful. After these
several unsuccessful attempts, I decided to do some research on the
internet business website, to locate any member of his family. That is why I
contacted you to assist me in repatriating the money and property left
behind by my lateclient before they get confiscated or declared unserviceable
by the bank. Thesaid Bank is in United Kingdom, a Commercial Bank where plenty
of rich peopletend to hide away funds not ready to be used or invested.
The Bank has issued me a notice to provide the next of kin to my late client or
have the Account confiscated within the next month. Since I have been unsuccessful
in locating the relatives of my late client foryears, I use this opportunity to
seek your consent to present you as the next ofkin of the deceased, so that the
proceeds of this account valued at 7.3 MillionPounds Sterling can be transferred
into your account. Your help will be appreciated with 40% and 50% to me, while
10% will be used for expenses. I guarantee that this will be executed under
legitimate arrangement that willprotect you from any breach of the law.
Please accept my apologies, keep myconfidence and disregard this letter if you
do not appreciate this proposition Ihave offered you. Thank you very much for
your understanding.

Best Regards, Mr. Alex Morgan

Dear Alex/Alx—

I wanted to check back in.

I am still reeling from the death of dear Uncle William.  You refer to him as Williams—that may have been a late in life name change.  I am willing to accept that as fact, because it makes a lot of sense to me.  I have seen so many photos of him…I just can’t believe I will never see another photo of him and be able to think “He’s alive and well, living abroad.”  Now I’ll just see the photos and know that he’s not alive, well, or living anywhere.

THANK YOU for acknowledging that this email may seem like a scam.  The fact that you mentioned that shows me that this is, in fact, not a scam at all, but a genuine effort to keep the “spirit” (money) of Uncle William(s) alive, despite the fact that his body isn’t alive.  I am so sorry that we’re unable to speak on the phone—I believe I mentioned that I am unable to call internationally, and while I wish I could speak with you when you called me, I am suffering from a severe tonsil infection, and can’t even say “Hello, this is Shannon Hutchison” on the phone.  Tragic, but this is the real world.

I completely understand that I was not listed as next of kin because of the top secret work Uncle William(s).  Although I have only seen photos of him, he seemed like he may be very secretive in the way that he looked at the camera, or should I say DID NOT look at the camera!  But I can assure, I am the next of kin!  Will you need a blood test?  Because I didn’t sign up to provide a blood test.

You have also asked that I agree to these terms:
1: That you give me your personal assurance that when this funds get into your account, you will not sit on it and leave me in the cold because then there will be nothing I can do to you because legally, you would have been accepted by the bank as the legal beneficiary to the account and there is no where I can seek legal redress except we sign a written agreement now before the commencement of the deal.

This makes a LOT of sense. I assure everything for which you ask assurance.  I do not like the cold myself, and would never leave someone in the cold LOL

2: That you know now that you will be responsible to deal with the bank directly (with my advice of course) and my capacity will be to get all the necessary documents relating to this claim.

Yes, I will certainly deal with a bank.  Banks are synonymous with Honest Building in my book.

May you forever rest in the joy that was my Uncle Williams.
Love and peace,
Shannon

Dear Shannon,

Good to hear back from you. Are you sure you sent to the Bank address on the form? Check very well and do not make any mistake by sending to another person.

You will find the Bank email address on the form I sent you, and you use both email to be sure they got it okay.

In your form you did not indicate the amount? You should correct it and put in the amount in worlds. Also you did not put the name of your Next of Kin in case your future.

All this are very important you put in the write things you need to do beside the Bank will not entertain such form because it will look childes and they might not even believe what you fill in the form.

Correct it and send to the Bank email address.

Alex Morgan.

Dear Alx.Morgan-

I got them straight from your email.  The fact that they may not have received it makes me so concerned.  Do you think that someone intercepted these messages and is using my personal information for private gain?  I would never dream of stealing, and it just breaks my heart that someone out there would do something like that.  How can I ensure that my personal information be safe??

Also, you can just go ahead and fill in the amount…I don’t know what it is in pounds or with interest.  Things overseas are very different from here.  For example, you don’t have Thanksgiving.  We don’t have vegemite.  I don’t really know what it is, because we don’t have it here.

I would hate for the bank to think that I am a child, but that makes me wonder—how old do I need to be to receive these funds?

Cheers,
Shannon

So, try and re-send application form to that email address. just copy and past

Dear Shannon,

I just receive an email now from the local attorney. He travel to Africa for a board meeting but he said he will be able to obtain the documents there.

He said he has already apply for the certificate but the Death Certificate he will get it for you free while Affidavit of Claim and Income Tax are too expensive and each of them cost $1,470 to obtain it, which means Affidavit of Claim and Income Tax will cost $2,940 and he has already deposited $1,300 balance of $1,640

He further said by tomorrow the Death Certificate will be ready but they told him in High Court that if he did not come with the balance they will not release the certificate for him.

So right now he needed $1,640 more to balance them and my self I do not have any money with me. So you should try and get the balance so that you can send to him to balance up for the certificate.

Get back to me let me know if you can get the money tomorrow.

Oh the turkey leg!!  Of course.  In the US, the turkey leg is a symbol of peace, brotherhood and success.  I was hoping that when this transaction was complete, you and I could meet (I will have the funds to help pay for the trip!) and share a turkey leg in honor of my late Uncle Williams.  Please say you will!

Just tell them bank that I will have the funds and documents all ready to go!

How are you doing today? I just receive the Death Certificate from the local attorney and he said the other two Affidavit of Claim and Income Tax will be ready by end of today or tomorrow but he said they will not release it not until the balance is being paid and balance is $1,640 as I told you yesterday.

He said you should send it through western union which is cheaper and he will be able to pick it up same day you sent it. He would have use account but he has no account in Africa beside sending through account will take more than 2 to 3 weeks before he will get it, but he said western union will be preferable and he will be able to pick it up same day.

Here is the information:

RECEIVE NAME: IBRAHIM YUSUF
ADDRESS: 5TH AVENUE LAGOS
TEST QUESTION: COLOR
ANSWER: YELLOW

Shannon, you should try and send it today so that he will pick it up and balance them for the remaining documents. You can split the money into two and send it in two different transaction.

Make sure you use same information as he gave me so that he will not ave any problem when picking it, you should spell all correctly as it's.

Find as attached Death Certificate but I will suggest you send to the Bank now including your ID Card or Driver License, the you will let them know that you are working on the remaining two okay.

Confirm if you receive my email.

Alex.

I have told you from the beginning that I cannot open attachments on my computer.  You continue to send me attachments, like you never knew this.  Why would you do that?

The information you gave me is not nearly enough to use Western Union.  When I logged onto their website, they asked for much more information than just a name and a color.  You did not even give me a country.  This doesn’t make any sense.

Also, who is IBRAHIM YUSUF?  I have had no contact with him.  Why would I send him money?  That would be like me sending my money to some guy on the streets of Africa.  I have never even been to Africa to know what the streets are like.

Please clear this up immediately!!!!

I also remember you said you can not open attachment which I always copy all the message to you through email. I understand your point but you have nothing to worry about the attorney will go with him to western union and pick it up and he will balance for the remaining documents. You will also receive all the receipt money paid to be sure that he's not telling lies.

Mrs. Shannon, am 52 years by age with 3 kids and I will never tell my follow brother or sister lie all because money that I will leave one day. If i tell you lies and the government get me arrested I will be jailed and I will not want such thing to happen me because nobody will look after my family. I so much love my family and I will not want them to suffer for no reason which I believe you are a mother you know what I mean.

You are not sending your money to just anyone in Africa, the attorney will receive the payment information as soon as you make the payment and he will go with the name Ibrahim Yusuf to pick up the money and balance for the documents.

Am giving you my world you have nothing to worry about and all will be fine.

Let me know if you want me to send you the Certificate by DHL so that I will do that since you can not open attachment.

Await your response.

Alex.

Dear Mrs. Shannon,

RECEIVER NAME: IBRAHIM YUSUF
ADDRESS: 5TH AVENUE B CLOSE.
COUNTRY: NIGERIA
TEST QUESTION: COLOR
ANSWER: YELLOW

That is the information he gave me and with this information you will be able to send it. Are you sending it online or bank? If you can look for supermarket or western union out let that will be better so that they will post it immediately for them to pick it up. Reason why am saying this so that the money will be pick it same day and they will balance for the documents before the end of this week.

Let me know if you receive my message.

Alex Morgan.

Subject: RE: Find As Attached Death Certificate

This has all just been such a troubling morning.  I have visited the Western Union website and they still need much more information that what Mr. Yusef has given you.  There are no Western Union stores near me at all—I looked.

But this is actually very good news.  I did not realize Mr. Yusef was in Nigeria.  My brother lives there, and I called him, and he is very familiar with 5th Avenue.  He works for an organization that gives shoes to orphans—you might have heard of them—it’s called TOMS.  My brother’s name is also Tom, but he’s not the same Tom as the shoes.

I would like to wire him the money (I do this all the time, and already have his information) and have him meet Mr. Yusef with the money in person.  This will be better because we can ensure the money gets to the right person.

Here’s what I will do:  1--Have my brother get the money today.  2—have him put the money in a black case (leather). 3—have him meet Mr. Yusef at a coffee shop on 5th Avenue.  4—Ask Mr. Yusef a security question (this can be pre-arranged—maybe something like “Do you have the money for the transaction?” “Yes.”) 5—Tom will give Mr. Yusef the money. 6—Mr. Yusef will give Tom a receipt.

Tom also has a copy of my passport that he can bring with him.  Please let me know at which coffee shop Mr. Yusef would like to meet, and at what time.

I have included a photo of Tom for you to give to Mr. Yusef.  It is a little old…I could not find a newer one.  He still looks a lot like this, but his hair is shorter and his face is older.  This will help you find him.

That's as of today.  The photo may have sent me over the top...but fingers crossed that Alex gets back in touch.

This is probably THE most time wastey of things that I will ever do.

Alright everyone...back to your jobs.
